About the Curriculum

All curriculums at EAC work towards opening a variety of doors for our students and their futures. Students have the opportunity to graduate from EAC with three diplomas:
  • American High School Diploma (accredited by NEASC/CIS)
  • Brazilian Ensino Médio Diploma (mandatory for all Brazilian students and accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Education)
  • IB Diploma (authorized by IBO).

About the Diploma Program

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year education program offered for Grade 11 and Grade 12 students. It provides an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education and is recognized by many universities worldwide. IBDP students complete assessments in six subjects, traditionally one from each of the 6 subject groups:

  • Studies in Language and Literature
  • Language Acquisition
  • Individuals and Societies
  • Experimental Sciences
  • Mathematics
  • The Arts

In addition, they must fulfill the three core requirements, namely CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service), TOK (Theory of Knowledge) and the EE (Extended Essay). Recent IBDP results including university destinations can be found on EAC’s Academic Profile.

  • Classes start at 8:10AM and end at 3:34PM
  • All classes in English (except Brazilian Program – Portuguese, History, and Geography)
  • Wide range of after school activities

After School Activities

Students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 are offered a robust after school co-curricular program. Activities vary from year to year depending on season, availability of personnel and facilities.

Safeguarding / Child Protection

EAC recognizes that child protection and welfare considerations permeate all aspects of school life and must be reflected in all of the school’s policies, practices and activities.

The goal of this policy is to ensure that all parties work together to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. This policy recognizes the proactive training that EAC must undertake to educate students, parents, faculty and staff about child protection. It also stresses the process and procedures to be followed in cases of suspected child abuse.

All adults who come into contact with children are appropriately and thoroughly vetted and trained.
